5,000 Youths Benefit From Fayemi’s Free JAMB, CBT Training In Ekiti

No fewer than 5,000 youths in Ekiti State have benefitted from the free JAMB forms and computer base trainings (CBT) instituted by Kayode Fayemi, the minister of mines and steel development. The scheme is being piloted by the JKF Leadership Centre in Ado-Ekiti.
Addressing the beneficiaries on Saturday, Fayemi expressed joy that the youths turned out in large numbers for the programme.
Fayemi, who is the immediate past governor of the the state, however, expressed regret that his successor, Ayo Fayose, could not sustain one of his (Fayemi) legacies, regretting that during his time as the state governor, free JAMB forms and registration was the responsibility of the state.
The APC stalwart promised not to waiver in his quest to ensure that nothing jeopardised the future of Ekiti youths.
“I am happy to see you here and I would have loved to sit with you at this training, left for my tight schedule. When we were in government, the state used to be responsible for this scheme but the situation had changed today. I want to assure you that I am committed to ensuring that nothing inhibits your determination to achieve your dream. “
He urged the youths to strive towards securing admission into their various institutions of choice within the shortest possible time.
“It is our commitment and passion for education. This is part of a number of steps we are putting in place for you to actualise your dreams. Education is our pride in Ekiti.”
Earlier, the centre’s  programme  officer, as well as  the  All Progressives Congress (APC) youths  leader in the state, Bisi Dada and Femi Ogundare respectively, disclosed that the beneficiaries were drawn from the 16 council areas and 177 wards in the state.
They explained that some youths who had obtained the forms from other sources also enrolled for the CBT training at the centre.
