Oyo-Ita to be Honoured with Mayegun in Ekiti

The monarch of Okemesi Ekiti, Oba Micheal  Adedeji has honoured the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita, with the  chieftaincy title of Mayegun of the town.

The monarch announced the honour when Oyo-Ita visited the palace on Thursday.
Oba Adedeji commended her hard work and diligence. He said he was delighted to receive  her in his palace at Okemesi Ekiti.
 And with the support that Mrs Oyo-Ita has given to my son, Ayodele Folayan,  I am giving her the chieftaincy title of Mayegun of Okemesi as a sign of gratitude to her.
” I also believe that ‎she will continue to support our town and our son to climb the ladder of success during her tenure,” he said.
Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita, said she was highly delighted about the honour,   even though it came to her as a surprise.
” I am so happy with the reception and title that his royal highness has given me. It shows that Yoruba people place high value‎  on their customs and traditions.‎
‎
” I want to assure his Royal Highness that he will never regret giving me a chieftaincy title  and also I promise to take the title to my people in order to inform them to start preparing for my installation,” she said.

I love footwears so much.I go all out to look for the ones that are fine and still affordable ,I may not be able to afford designer shoes for now but any good looking footwear catches my eye. Elemi, Igede-Ekiti

In virtually every Yoruba town, like many other places in Nigeria, there are different taboos which no one is allowed to violate freely. And anyone who violates such taboos does not go unpunished. Igede-Ekiti, headquarters of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State, is no exception to this rule, said its traditional ruler, Onigede of Igede- Ekiti, Oba James Aladelusi. Speaking with Daily Sun recently, the monarch listed the taboos of the town. Igede is one of the first towns founded in Ekiti land.
